About the Project
[Orshi] Every remarkable interior begins with extraordinary materials. Inspired by the warmth and simplicity of Mid-Century Modern design, this custom residence balances clean architectural lines with richly layered natural materials. Bespoke walnut millwork, sculptural brass accents, and furniture-inspired detailing create interiors that feel both timeless and inviting.

Serving as the centerpiece of the kitchen, Picasso marble transforms the space into a work of art. Its sweeping veins of warm amber, soft gray, charcoal, and rich espresso create a striking sense of movement, reminiscent of an abstract painting crafted by nature. The discovery of the Picasso marble became the defining moment in the design process. While the original kitchen had already been thoughtfully designed, the scale and expressive movement of the slab inspired me to rethink the space so its natural beauty could be experienced to its fullest potential. I redesigned both the island and the range feature wall to showcase the marble as a perfectly balanced, symmetrical composition, allowing it to become the visual anchor of the room. Because the slab dimensions differed from my original concept, I introduced a warm walnut overhang accented with a refined brass reveal. What began as a design challenge became one of the kitchen's defining architectural details, seamlessly blending stone, wood, and metal into a composition that feels both intentional and timeless.
In the primary bath, Michelangelo marble introduces a quieter, more serene expression. Its elegant veining is beautifully revealed through a bookmatched feature wall, creating a spa-like retreat while continuing the home's story of exceptional natural materials. Together, these remarkable stones establish a cohesive design narrative that celebrates craftsmanship, authenticity, and timeless luxury.
This design philosophy extends beyond the kitchen, where a bespoke two-sided steel and glass wine enclosure creates a seamless visual connection between the kitchen and game room. Visible from both spaces, it serves as both an architectural focal point and a functional display, celebrating transparency, craftsmanship, and thoughtful design.
